Labor day weekend!

I know I haven't done a post in a very long time... I also know that I keep saying these exact same words in every single post and it has probably gotten very annoying but I thought that school was right fitted into my schedule but I was still having trouble staying up late and doing my homework. :(
I'm pretty sure that now I know how to manage my schedule and work so I will try to do much more posts than I have been doing since school started.
Anyways, I just wanted this post to be about Labor day weekend! I'm sure that a lot of you are excited like I am with having an extra day off from school. I didn't do much yesterday but last night I went out with a bunch of our family friends' to eat dinner. After we ate dinner, we went to Fro-Jo's and had some frozen yogurt! Since we were around some shops and bookstores, we decided to go around and walk a little bit. It was around 9:30 that some of us really wanted to go to the movies, which we could practically walk to, but all the guys were tired and thirsty (lol, I know nice excuse) so we decided to stop by McDonald's to get something to drink and just chill. :P
I'm not sure what I will be doing today but I woke up this morning and cleaned my room!!!! SCORE! and now I'm planning to start my homework.
NOW..... for the exciting part!!!! Since it is Labor day weekend and I absolutely miss the mall, my mom, sister and I have decided to go shopping tomorrow. We really need to go to target and do some major shopping there as well so we might go to target today.
I hope you all have a great Labor day weekend!

Feel amazing without makeup!

I know that all of you girls out there want to look brighter and more natural rather than packing on tons of makeup. I came up with a few tips that most of you have probably heard before but I hope they help!

  • Always brush your eyebrows! know that a lot of people just leave their eyebrows the ways they are or fill them in but brushing them makes them look much better and cleaner. Brow gel works great but since this post concludes makeup, any comb will work.
  • Take care of your lips. Make sure that you keep your lips soft and prevent them from looking chapped. Yes, all of us have those days when we have super dry lips, but a very quick and easy way to help this problem, is to exfoliate. This process only takes a few mintes: Mix honey, olive oil, and sugar in a small container and work it into your lips to exfoliate. It is super duper easy to make and use. Plus, it's all natural!
  • Curl your eyelashes. Curling your eyelashes not only makes your lashes look longer and more beautiful, but it also makes you look more awake. It is a great was to make your eyes pop with no makeup.
  • Keep your teeth clean and white. This doesn't have much to do with your face, but having clean teeth just makes everyone's complexion look much better! There are those nights, when I can barely keep my eyes open and go straight to bed, but I always try to brush my teeth as good as I can in the morning. Personally, I don't use white strips to make my teeth whiter but a lot of people do and that might work for you. Just make sure that you brush and floss your teeth! (Haha, I sound like my dentist ) :D
  • This last tip applies to only some of you, but make sure that your face doesn't get too oily. Yes, my friends know how much I hate it when my face gets oily during the day with or without face makeup. As you most likely know, you can always blot your face with powder but again, since there is no makeup involved, you can used blotting sheets. You can find them at a lot of places but my favorite are Elf's blotting sheets. They work great and they are only $1! Making sure your face is oil free, just makes your face look cleaner and fresher.

I hope these tips helped you. I find them very helpful for myself and I hope it works for you!

Reviews for CG Natureluxe Silk Foundation and CG Lashblast Mascara

This is a reivew on the Covergirl Natureluxe Silk Foundation and the Covergirl Lashblast Mascara requested by Angela .

I am really happy with both of the products that I have purchased!
First off, is the Foundation.
PROS:
I don't really have many problem areas on my skin, so I don't really need a full coverage foundation, which makes this foundation great for my skin. Also, my skin is super oily, and when I wear something on my face, it automatically makes it feel like it is dripping off by the first hour I wear it. Since this foundation is really light, it doesn't give me that feeling.

CONS:
A bottle of 1 oz. is around $10. That is pretty expensive for a drugstore foundation but I think that it is worth it to give it a try. Also, I had heard so many great things of how it smells like fresh cucumbers but when I smelt mine, it didn't really smell like cucumbers. Sure, there were some hints of cucumber but it mostly smelled just different... there is really no way I can explain it but the smell is not bad or anything and I am fully okay with it.

The top photo is a picture of my hand with sharpey and the botton is the same photo with foundation over it. (This picture is to show the coverage)

Covergirl Lashblast Mascara:
I think that the pictures mostly are the review but I will still say what I like about this mascara. Honestly, there was nothing that disappointed me about this mascara. My favorite part about it is the brush! It has the most defined bristles I have ever seen. It defines your lashes while giving them volume and length without making any clumps.

Mean music video and pictures...

Okay I know I keep saying this over, and over, and over, but I am really sorry for not blogging. School is starting in less than a week and my sister and I are stressing over our summer projects and just everything going on. Anyways, a few days ago, I went to Angela's house and we ended up remaking the music video of the song "Mean" by Taylor Swift and putting our own twist on it... of course, it is nowhere as good as the original music video, but it still turned out pretty good!!

So here's some pictures of the making of the video and some random pictures of us :)

From left to right: Me, Kylie, Angela, Julia, and Katelyn
You might be wondering why everyone else is either wearing a t-shirt or something with spaghetti straps and I'm wearing a cardigan AND a scarf... lol I was trying to get more of a bohemian, country look but just mostly covering my outfit for the other scenes. Yes, I was frying under the sun.

Haha Angus acting all drunk :P

I'm not sure what the point of this picture is but Kylie is being drunk and Hannah looks like she is advertising beer? and I have no idea what grace is doing.
I just love the look on their faces :D

Lol saba looks cute with her sad face :)

Me and Julia!

Star!!

More star!!

This is just a cute pic of saba and Angela looking at a video :)

Small haul and review!

So today I went to the mall and picked up a few things with my sister and friend!

First thing that I got was this Paris Amour travel sized body lotion for $0! lol my friend was nice enough to give me a coupon!

Review: This lotion smells amazing! I would definitely recommend it if you have a bath and body works near where you live since it's on sale for only $1!!!!!

Swatches from left to right: Bene tint, Posie tint, High beam

I am super exited about this! I bought this benefit trio that contains the Posie tint, High beam, and the Bene tint!! You can buy this product at any sephora store for only $15!

Review: I had wanted to get this for a long time, but I had also always hesitated to, so I was psyched to finally get it! The posie tint is very tinted and it is very easy to work with . However, the bene tint is a little too watery and it is not as pigmented, if that's what you want to call it. It is more sheer than the posie tint but you can always build the colors and make them very dark, so I don't think that's really a problem. These pictures above are from a few ours ago and the tints are still as pigmented as they were when these swatches were made! However, the high beam does rub off... I guess I shouldn't be surprised since it is not a stain or waterproof. The High beam is the main reason that I actually bought this trio and I think that it is as good as the positive reviews I had heard about it. I would absolutely recommend this to all of you out there! Even though they are travel sized, it will be really hard to use it all up!

This gorgeous green waterproof Sephora eye liner for only $1!

Review: This is an amazing deal that is going on in sephora right now! It is only $1 too! Can it get better? Yes! It is super soft and glides on so easily on your eye. It is super pigmented as well. The picture shown above is only one strike of the eyeliner on my hand. It is waterproof so you don't have to worry about it running off your face. It doesn't smudge but it gets off easier than I thought it would. I guess that would be a good thing because you don't have to worry about your eyeliner smudging or having to scrub your eye to get it off!

I am super happy of my purchase today! Let me know if you like these small reviews! I have gotten a few other requests to put up reviews on some specific products, which I will very soon. Let me know if you ever want me to do a review on anything in the future :)

Life

This is just a quick update of my life recently and what I have been doing. I know I haven't posted in a long time but that's because things have been complicated and I barely have any time to post anything. We have been and still are with my family that we haven't seen in a while and they are staying at our house so it is really nice to hang out with them after a long time. I still have a lot of summer reading to do left and that might get in my way but I will definitely be doing more posts now!
Anyways, I went to my friend's house a few days ago and we took some pics... lol yes, we were planking :P

Gifts!

Hey guys! So yesterday, my mom's cousin came to visit from New York, and she brought my mom, Saba, and I some goodies! It was really nice of her to even bring us anything at all and I absolutely love what she brought for me :)
Here's what I got:

Lol obviously she got them from Macy's :)

Here is the first pair. The blue rhombus actually sort of changes color based on what you are wearing. Basically, the color of your shirt just reflects on it! Isn't that cool?
It's Sterling Sliver or 14KT gold-filled earwire.
Macy's for $54 (Yes, she did forget to take the price tag off :P She notices as she was giving it to us )

This is the second pair. It's like a 3-layered earring with the colors bronze, silver, and gold. This is Sterling Silver or 14KT gold-filled earwire as well.
Macy's for $58

Smokey cat eye!

This is a gorgeous smokey double winged cat eye that I created today! It's not very wearable for an everyday look but I think that it would be great for a night out or a party! (Basically anywhere you would wear a smokey eye) Please let me know in the comments if you would like a tutorial or not. I hope you enjoy!

  • wet n wild eyeshadow palette in the color "Don't steal my thunder". I absolutely love the wet n wild eyeshadow palettes. They are super pigmented so I didn't even use a primer for this look.
  • Covergirl lashblast volume mascara in the color "Very Black"
  • Sephora eyeliner in the color "Glitter black"

Sorry!

Hey guys! So this post is just mostly about what I have been doing these past few days and why I haven't been blogging during these days. First of all, my mom's cousin is coming down from New York to Kentucky to stay with us, which I am super thrilled about! She is sooo nice and I can't wait. Since she is coming, we were cleaning the house yesterday for practically the whole day. I know it's just one day and I haven't blogged for few days but I have also been busy with helping my uncle out with a very difficult task, and deciding on a concerto for my piano, which I finally decided today!
Here were my top two choices for the concerto:
You might think that the second piece is much harder, but really, the first piece is much harder due to the technique. I did choose the first piece just because I couldn't decide which one, so my teacher told me to go with the first piece. I can't wait to learn it!
I will definitely do more posts again! Sorry if this post was super boring. :)

What's in my pool bag

The title probably gave away what this post is going to be about, but I will tell you guys anyways. So basically I will show you what I usually take to the pool (You have probably heard of what's in my beach bag but since I won't be going to the beach this summer, I thought that I should as well call this a what's in my pool bag post).

The bag that I take usually switches up but this is the bag that I take most of the time.

  • Ipod
  • Sunglasses
  • Sunscreen
  • A book (You might be thinking why I take a science book to the pool, but it's because I have to read it for my school as summer reading)
  • Hair Brush
  • Gum :) (No, I do not chew gum in the pool, I just always carry some)
  • Hair ties
  • Towel
  • A plastic bag (I take a plastic bag to put my swim suit in there afterwards since it will be wet)
  • Wallet (Don't carry much money in there since my bag is fully open to the public) lol
  • A small pouch with a hand sanitizer, concealer, body spray, and a sunscreen for my face.
  • deodorant
  • Travel sized shampoo
  • Travel sized body wash
This is basically what I take to the pool with me! I do like to take a shower if there is any afterwards to get the chlorine out of my hair. I hope you guys enjoyed and have fun the next time you go to the pool!

My paintings!

If you have read my previous blogs, you probably know that I just painted my room a few weeks ago. I painted it a very pretty blue-ish turquoise color. It turned out very nice but for the past few weeks I have been trying to think of ways I can decorate my room and make it seem more elegant. There are still a few things that I need for decorations but a week or two ago, I bought two picture frames, and I decided that I want to frame my paintings and put them in my room!
I think that they turned out great and here are two pictures of them:

(The color of the walls show up much darker that they are in this picture)

(lol sorry about the reflection)

I will have a picture of my room up very soon! Leave a comment letting me know what you think about the paintings :)

Gold eye look

This is a gold and shimmery look that I created on my sister today. I think that this look is very wearable in the day time and the night time. It would look gorgeous with a red lip at night time to give it that dramatic look. I was not planning on doing a makeup look or a tutorial but whenever my sister and I get bored, we do makeovers (lol), so I thought that I would show you guys the look that I created on her. I hope you enjoy!

(Sorry for the terrible lighting and the glitter fall-outs under her eye)

How to create this look:

First, I took a gold eye shadow and applied it to her lids. Then, I took a deep brown color and applied it in her outer corners. I worked what was left on the brush into her crease. I also took a light brown and applied it to her crease and placed that same color beneath her lower lash line. For the extra glamour and shine, I took a light champagne color and applied it to the center of her lid, her brow bone, and on her inner corners.
For the liner, I used a gel eyeliner on her top lashes and also tight-lined. To get the eyeliner around her lashes, I used a black eye shadow with a very thin brush and applied that between the gaps in her lashes. For bottom lashes, I used a black pencil eye liner on her lower lash line. To end the look, I just applied a coat of mascara.

Products used:
  • aerie radiant eye shadow palette in the color goddess
  • wet n wild eye shadow palette called Don't Steal My Thunder
  • Black wet n wild gel eyeliner
  • Sephora pencil eye liner in the color glitter black
  • Cover Girl Lash blast volume mascara
